Hey Therapist Entrepreneurs,
Building a premium fee private pay practice is not for wimps. It takes a lot of work, a lot of consistency, and a lot of strategy. But when you can do it, when you can make it work for you, it is incredibly rewarding to provide excellence, design something you love, and reap the benefits in return.
This entire newsletter today is about how to do just that. We’re talking about how to market to premium fee clients, the new strategies in SEO that are actually working right now, and my personal fixation on knowing what you’re selling and why it’s worth it.
I hope these episodes make sense to you. I really enjoyed putting this together.
And in this week’s Personal Story Time...
I’ll tell you what it’s been like to write the Worth It newsletter for a year.

For marketing to premium fee clients...
Marketing a premium fee practice is different than marketing an insurance-based practice. It just is.
And that’s why this episode of Marketing Therapy by Anna Rose Walker is a must-listen if you're trying to bring in cash pay clients. Anna talks at length about how to position yourself as someone that clients who can afford your fees will choose above other clinicians.
She also dispels a common myth about attracting these clients. I’ll give you a hint: it’s not about convincing them that they need therapy. It’s about showing them that you are the expert they need.
She talks specifically about website design, positioning, and the psychology of premium fee cash pay clients, and what they are looking for that should affect the way that you design your website and talk to these clients through your marketing.
At Thriving Child Center and PCIT Experts, I spend a lot of time thinking about our ideal client avatar and how to showcase our value in the way that I talk about it on our website and communicate that to our clientele. Marketing to these clients is not an accident. It takes consistent, thoughtful work.
And to be honest with you, in a lot of ways, I am similar to these clients. Here’s what I’m always looking for: I’m willing to make room in my budget to pay for the right specialist. What I need to be convinced of is that I’ve chosen the right specialist. Does that make sense?
If you are interested in building, scaling, or understanding the way premium fee marketing actually works, this episode is a must-listen.

For keeping up with SEO changes in 2026....
SEO in 2026 is not the same as SEO in 2025. Things are changing, and I am so grateful that Danielle Swimm always keeps us up to date.
Marketing your premium fee practice is a lot about getting found. And Danielle goes into some important details about how to get found right now, with the way that SEO, AEO, and GEO need to work for you.
For example, Danielle talks about how blogging may not be an important feature anymore. Honestly, that's a relief.
I was thrilled to listen to this episode. I took notes and started adjusting my website accordingly.
She also tells us about a free training that she's about to offer, which I highly recommend that you join if you have time.
I highly recommend listening to this episode immediately and making sure that you are using best practices with SEO. It's hard to keep up with all the changes, and this short podcast will help you get on track.

For the most important piece of building a premium fee practice…
Every day, people ask me what it takes to build a premium fee practice. Everyone wants to be paid well for their work and to attract their ideal clients.
The answer is more simple than you might think, and here it is: You need to know why you are the best person to help your ideal clientele. It’s that simple. You need to know why you are the best, and you need to find a way to explain that.
Without that fundamental self-knowledge, I do not believe it is possible to build a premium fee practice in this economy.
In this episode of Worth It, I go into more detail about why this framework is so important, why it can be hard for us to figure it out sometimes, and I share some specific strategies to help you get there.
I hope it is helpful to you.

Leah's Personal Story Time:
One year of weekly newletters
I started this Worth It newsletter on February 20th last year, and I’ve been writing every single week since.
When I started, I had only 10 people on the email list. Now the list has grown to over 300.
And it’s so funny. I started writing this newsletter because I was listening to such cool content on podcasts, and it was killing me that I couldn’t tell other people about it. Seriously, I didn’t have a product I was trying to sell. I didn’t even have a consulting business. I just couldn’t stand hearing good information and not sharing it.
Over the past year, I’ve worked on being consistent and continuing to share podcast episodes that appeal to me, and in the middle of it I also launched my own second podcast.
I’ve learned so much about the industry, about myself, and about what real committed consistency actually looks like through this process.
I just wanted to thank you all for reading these podcast episode suggestions. I promise this is going to continue.
And if there’s anything you want me to talk about on the Worth It podcast, I am completely open to suggestions. You can reply to this newsletter, tell me a topic you wish I had discussed, and I will go into it for you.
And if you are struggling to be consistent with something, or you’re scared about talking about something you’ve never talked about before, I encourage you to go for it.
This year has been awesome, and I’m excited to do it again.
Sharing is caring!
