For where to focus marketing to focus your marketing now…
I love a Danielle Swimm episode that is all about where to focus marketing energy, because let's be real, there are so many places we can spend our time and energy marketing. It's hard to choose what will be the most effective, so it's a relief when Danielle can give us her input.
Danielle has been one of the strongest proponents of integrating AI and AEO into your marketing since 2025. I feel like she has been so accurate about why this is important to being found in our current climate. Here's an example: I can't even begin to tell you the amount of practice owners I've seen on social media recently who feel like they're invisible on the internet. According to Danielle, they really are if they can't be seen by AI right now.
Danielle also talks about the importance of networking, and of course I definitely agree with that, because I happen to be the mysterious guest that she referenced who leaves every day on Friday open for networking meetings. It's true I prioritize networking whenever possible and really believe this has helped me in my group practice.
If you're feeling stuck right now and you don't know where to focus, I highly encourage you to listen to this episode.

For achieving The Dream dashboard…
I'm obsessed with data. One of the most exciting things I do in my week is look over a dashboard with my leadership team to see how things have changed and what conclusions we can draw about the business based on data. I want to know all the clinical data. I want to know the financial data. I want to know the conversion data. I want allll the marketing data. I want it all.
The hard part is finding a way of getting it all in one spot on one dashboard without having to pull from a bunch of different systems to get it there. I've been trying to think of a solution, and that's why when Uriah's episode came out this week, I was absolutely thrilled.
Uriah and his guest talk about The Dream: a customized dashboard that will help you see all of that intricate data that I am currently missing without having to manually upload it. Could this even exist? Will this really be a thing? I was curious enough to book a call. Even if you aren't interested in purchasing a dashboard like this, it's really helpful to think about the kinds of numbers that are important to focus on while you're building a practice. If you realize that you do need some sort of dashboard, this episode will give you details about how you can create one or buy one that may meet your actual needs. Absolutely worth a listen.

For knowing where to invest next…
As practice owners, there are so many things we could invest in at any given moment.
A new website. Another admin. A consultant. Office space. Better systems. Coaching. Ads. SEO. An EHR. Your own health and burnout recovery 😅
And honestly, one of the most overwhelming parts of scaling a business is that there are constantly people telling you what you “need” to buy next.
So how do you actually decide?
In this episode, I break down the thought process I personally use when deciding what to invest in inside my business, especially as someone running and scaling a multi-seven-figure practice. I talk about the difference between a true investment versus just spending money, how I think about ROI, and the question I ask myself before making almost any major business decision.
I also talk about one of the biggest mistakes I see practice owners make: trying to invest in everything all at once instead of identifying the actual bottleneck that is keeping them from reaching the next level.
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by all the different directions you could go in your business, I think this episode will help you simplify things and get clearer on what actually matters next.

Leah's Personal Story Time:
What if you need more practice first
I've been managing my own practice Instagram for a little over a month. I was convinced that I wouldn't be good at it anyway, so my whole goal was just to post regularly.
However, something really interesting happened over the weekend. A reel that I didn't think was that big actually went viral. At this moment of writing, we're at 115,000 views. Then I posted a second follow-up, and we're now at 9,000 views. I have 400 new followers so far. Honestly, I don't know what to do with the fact that it's working. It just occurred to me that this may have a real impact on my business, on my podcast, on my group practice, maybe even on Worth It Practice Podcast.
Instead of being excited that my work was paying off, I was feeling frustrated with myself. I started thinking about all the time I'd wasted avoiding instagram. All I could see was opportunity cost, which I hate.
It was really tempting to go down a self-critical rabbit hole, but then I realized something important. I don't know if I was actually able to create content that went viral before.
Here's what I mean: I now have been hosting the Educated Parent Podcast for over a year. I've been hosting the Worth It Practice Podcast for six months. I've now had some consistent practice telling stories and talking about my experiences in front of an audience. I'm not sure if I would be able to make a reel as honest and as concise, with the level of storytelling that I used in that reel, before I'd had that kind of practice. I'm not sure that it would have been the right time. Maybe I would have posted a couple of things that felt really disingenuous and given up.
This brings me to this whole thought process around timing, fear, and your own personal readiness to do something. Sometimes we avoid things we need to do out of fear. Sometimes we avoid things that we should do because we are just not the version of ourselves that is ready to do them yet.
I used to think it was the first. Now I'm starting to think it was the second. I'm starting to think this because of how scared I was when I started Educated Parent Podcast and then how scared I was when I started Worth It Practice Podcast. Like, seriously, I didn't sleep for two nights before the first episode went live. I can't imagine showing up on Instagram genuinely like I can now without being a podcast host first. I think I just needed practice being seen and getting my thoughts together .
That might be worth asking yourself. Not every avoidance is fear. Sometimes you're just not ready yet, and that's actually okay. The question is whether you're avoiding because you genuinely need more practice first, or avoiding because you're already ready and just scared.
I spent years convinced Instagram wasn't for me. Turns out I just needed to become a podcast host first.
If it's Worth It, pass it along!
